Well, it seems that we are beaten….both the Church and Mead
stops will probably be suppressed later this summer. Despite noises to the
contrary, we are very likely to lose these stops by Holsworthy Mobile Library
(fortnightly on Wednesdays) in the Autumn. The Darracott stop will probably
be extended in order to cater for more users.
Some of my
kind Mead neighbours joined the library in order to help avoid this…you
know who you are and I’d like to say thank you. I know also that a new
member joined the Church stop this year. Exeter Library Services have been
undertaking a type of feasability study this year on Library use and stops
with less than 3 regular users are at risk across the region.
If anyone wishes to comment on the above or on any other aspect of the Mobile
Library Service to Liz Alexander, Ops Manager at Devon Library Services on
01392.384335, she will be happy to speak to you. If you would like to join
the library, you can do so on board very easily. The timetable is held at
the shop, is available on board the library and at the website link below
