The Old Smithy Inn

Our lovely local is noe in the competent & friendly hands of Rich and Jen, along with their daughter Molly, son Mylo and dogs Clif and Smithy.

3 real ales feature Sharp's Doom Bar as the resident bitter, and two other guests on rotation from local breweries such as Clearwater, Country Life, Jollyboat and O’Hanlons to name but a few! Haling from Bristol, Rich’s passion for cider is evident with a growing selection on both draught and bottle. Kitchen Manager Jake and his merry band of men prepare a variety of mouth-watering dishes made using quality locally sourced ingredients. Rich and Jen have worked tirelessly to put their own individual stamp on this beautiful pub by combining classical pub fixtures with their love of all things 60s and 70s. The result is truly eye-catching.

The Old Smithy Inn was delighted to have won second place in the pub section of the North Devon Marketing Bureau's Food and Drink Awards 2006.

Caleb Wakely (Snr) was the oldest blacksmith in Devon and Cornwall - still working the forge at over 90! - he was also the local dentist!
