'Virtual' Garden Show

Thank you to everyone who has sent in photos for this 'virtual' Garden Show. A celebration of the what we have been up to in this most unusual of years. If you have a photo you would like to add, please send it to admin@welcombe.org.uk.

This tasty, joyous and fantastic growth would not have happened without our community's generosity, donations and encouragement. Perhaps Iain's reaction to being defined as 'vulnerable' may have been a factor in his determined digging... thank you all!

Four months ago this was just a polytunnel frame, now it is full of life (not all of it welcome! - those pesky caterpillars keep eating the brassicas).

Lockdown limerick (poem for children)

We’re not really sure where we’re at,

Though we know it don’t help to be fat,

There’s one rule for muggins

And one rule for Cummins,

And one for the Downing Street cat. [KR]

Come closer, I love you so much,

There’s a line there, I’ll tell you how much,

It’s exactly 2 metres,

So listen, no cheaters,

But — I’m missing that deep sense of touch. [KR]

Mary was a keyworker,

But the lack of protection did irk her.

When given a task

With no gloves and no mask,

She turned up for work in a burqa. [PC]

Bill thought his camper a hit,

decided he travel a bit,

drove to Welcombe,

expelled from his bum,

now we've got to clean up his ****. [RB]
