Defibrillators

Welcombe has two defibrillators. One at the Village Hall and one in the telephone box at Darracott. A map showing their locations is below.

If someone is suffering from heart failure:

  1. Phone 999 and ask for an ambulance. Follow the emergency service operator's instructions.

  2. Begin chest compressions at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute on patients who are unconscious and not breathing normally.

  3. Ask someone else to get the nearest defibrillator. Once retrieved, open and follow the defibrillator's instructions.

The next training session for the defibrillators will be held at Welcombe Village Hall on Saturday 25th March 2023 at 10am. This session is free and open to everyone.
