St Nectan's Church
Due to Coronavirus, the Church is currently closed to visitors and all services and bell ringing are currently suspended. When the Church reopens, this page will be updated to reflect any changes. For the moment, the page below reflects what the Church offered before Coronavirus.
What is the Electoral Roll?
The church’s Electoral Roll is the register of its voting members; it is a list of those qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. Electoral rolls provide an indication of the real membership and strength of the church.
Who can be on the electoral Roll?
Baptised adults (over 16 years) who live in the parish, or who have worshipped regularly at St. Nectan’s for at least six months and are committed to being part of the life of the local Church of England congregation.
Enrolment is a way of saying....“I belong”. For us it is an act of commitment to St. Nectan’s Church and the church as a whole. It opens the way for a greater involvement in the life of the church at parish, deanery, diocesan and national levels.
It is nearly time for St Nectan’s APCM.
It is going to be on Monday 14th September at 2pm outside St Nectan’s Welcombe. Please bring a chair.
This is the Annual Meeting of Parishioners (a brief meeting at which our church wardens are elected by the whole church family); and
the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (the main meeting, at which, among other things, we review our church finances, elect PCC and Deanery Synod members, and listen to the Rev. Jane Skinner give her annual review,
Everybody is welcome to attend this meeting but can only vote if you are on the Electoral roll.
If you would like to go on the electoral roll please contact
Elizabeth Howarth at firstname.lastname@example.org or
Helen Bence at email@example.com
We have a great team of Ministers who support and bring their ministry to our little Church.
We are blessed with an amazing organist at most services who also performs concerts regularly.
Our services are at. 9.30am most Sundays, unless advertised. See the website Events page.
At present our Services include Morning Worship on the 1st Sunday of the month , the 2nd is Sunday Holy Communion,
Our Welcombe Family Service is held on every 3rd Sunday. It is a very informal service that lasts no more than 40 minutes Usually led by Vera with activities and child friendly bible stories. Over the past few months we have looked at many stories that we know from our youth! We are very friendly and are not upset by noise, there are toys at the back of the church in case of emergencies! We always finish with tea, coffee and biscuits! Go on, come and see, we don’t bite!
We also have a Family Holy Communion Service on the 4th Sunday of every month. This is slightly more structured than the Welcombe service. It is shorter than the full Communion Service and has a more simple look at the readings. Again, we are perfectly unfazed by squeaky children! This service is finished by about 10.15, no tea and biscuits this time though!
We look forward to seeing you all at any church service and you are always welcome with your children to any.
