Food and Drink
Nestled at the top of the Welcombe Valley this quaint and character-filled thatched pub was once the home of the village Blacksmith. Nowadays the Old Smithy boasts a beautiful split level beer garden, excellent food, a large range of well-kept beers and ciders and, from Summer 2020, will have beautiful accommodation rooms available.
The pub also offers free overnight camper-van stopovers on site and is registered with Britstops. In usual times (but not during pandemics!) the Smithy puts on regular music events ranging from Folk Nights (normally every second Mon of month), singer-songwriter and band nights and once a year we really push the boat out and hold Smithy Fest, the biggest and best music, ale and cider festival in the area (2nd weekend in July).
Please note the pub strongly recommends bookings especially during holiday times.

pachadesign
Glenn Rushbrooke and Samantha Robb are a design partnership specialising in making contemporary furniture & accessories from reclaimed & natural resources.
They are very much inspired by the decay and rawness of materials such as oak, slate and metal, yet use these materials to produce pieces with clean lines and a modern feel.

CARV
CARV leather bags, accessories and homeware are designed and handcrafted in Welcombe by Becky Cocker, a British designer and leatherworker. Every CARV piece is mindfully handcrafted in small batches using centuries-old hand leatherworking techniques - this means no machines at all, just a simple palette of carefully selected (and lovingly sharpened) hand tools. We use the finest vegetable tanned leather to create pieces that are beautiful to touch and smell, chemical-free, long lasting and durable.

Popalini & Jezando Ceramics
Popalini & Jezando make collaboratively designed, wheel-thrown pots: wood-fired stoneware and slipped earthenware from their studio pottery at Koa Tree Studios, Welcombe. They are influenced by both the traditional pots of North Devon and the subtle understated forms they admired whilst working in Japan.
