Mark the date, round up the family, and come and spend a proper West Country fete afternoon with us. St Nectan's Church Fete has been a fixture in the Welcombe diary for longer than most of us can remember, and this year it gets a fresh twist. We've moved to a Saturday and into the Village Hall so that more of you can join in, and we've packed the afternoon with traditional country games, live music, cream teas, and a grand finale you'll be talking about all summer.
It's a celebration of the feast of St Nectan, the village, and the simple pleasure of a good day out. Best of all, there's something here for every age, from toddlers to grandparents.
Entry is just £1, and every ticket goes straight into our Free Prize Draw, with these great prizes:
£50 voucher for Biotaderm skincare
£30 voucher for The Old Smithy Inn
£30 voucher for Hartland Quay Hotel
Ticket for 2 to the Milky Way Adventure Park
£25 voucher for Welcombe Pottery
Getting in couldn't be simpler. Your £1 entry ticket includes automatic entry into the Free Prize Draw, so it pays for itself the moment you walk through the door.
Buy your ticket in advance in one of two ways:
In person: from Helen Bence, Howard Pankhurst, Sheila Wade, here in the village.
You can also pay on the day at the gate, but buying ahead helps us plan and gets you straight into the prize draw.
Stay to the end, because this is the one to see. Jonathan Marshall brings his Free Spirits show to Welcombe, starring Amadeus, a magnificent black Friesian horse, performing alongside falcons that soar at over 100mph. It's part spectacle, part heartfelt message about embracing the free spirit within. Beautiful, fearless, and genuinely unforgettable.
We're delighted that long-time resident and much-loved community member Lynda Yeomans is returning to Welcombe as our special guest to officially open the fete.
Ged Camille will be playing live throughout the afternoon, the perfect soundtrack to a Pimms in the sun.
